Two of traditional Mexican music's biggest acts are joining forces to bring the romance, history and joy of mariachi music to North America! Sinaloa's very own Banda Sinaloense el Recodo de Don Cruz Lizarraga, better known as Banda El Recodo for short, and Jalisco natives Mariachi Vargas De Tacalitlan are hitting the road together on the 200 Anos de Musica Mexicana Tour, performing for five very special shows across the US.
Each well respected for their contributions to Mexico's proud mariachi tradition, the ensembles fuse the sounds of trumpets, violins, guitarron, guitar and vihuela to form a distinctive and theatrical Spanish orchestra. Formed by renowned Mariachi icon Gaspar Vargas in 1897, Mariachi Vargas De Tacalitlan are one of the oldest and most respected of the genre's groups. Formed in 1938. Banda El Recodo has as long and illustrious a history, shaping the tradition with a more modern twist.
